Pocket Pinata Interactive is looking for such an individual to join our game development family as a Full Stack Engineer in our Burnaby office.

You will:

  • Collaborate with engineers, artists, designers,and project managers to accomplish tasks on budget and on time, using best engineering practices.
  • Design and write code for components or modules to spec and according to coding standards.
  • Proactively seek out system issues, troubleshoot the problem, formulate the solution and implement the solution.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and formulate solutions which minimizes the risk of side effects.
  • Breakdown assigned deliverables into tasks and provide time estimates.
  • Actively lead technical discussions and encourage engineers to share their opinions and ideas.
  • Actively mentor less senior engineers to help grow their technical and tech management skills.
  • Actively participate in project and resource planning meetings by offering thoughts and ideas.
  • Actively document technical designs and implementation via diagrams, documents, and code comments .
  • Update and expand your technical skills to keep pace with industry developments.

You are a great fit for the position if you have:

  • 4+ years of Web client games programming.
  • 2+ years of Unity experience developing games.
  • 4+ years of experience programming in Javascript and/or C#.
  • Experience with RESTful server and client design and programming.
  • Experience with server authoritative network communications.
  • Experience with real time multiplayer gameplay programming, solving for scale.
  • Experience developing and optimizing gameplay systems.
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable on multithreaded programming and async design in .NET
  • Strong cross-discipline communication and collaboration skills.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on delivering high quality results on time.
  • A proactive, forward thinking mentality who enjoys team collaborations.
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Having the following skills is a plus:

  • Experience shipping games on mobile. (Android, IOS)
  • Experience shipping MMO games.
  • Experience developing servers, apps, or  games using Python.
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with Build pipelines and services deployment with Jenkins.
  • Working knowledge of Cocos 2d / Cocos Creator.
  • Knowledge of Agile Development Methodology. (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Knowledge of UML.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking infrastructure setup and management.
